Recently I was able to purchase a bread machine at Deseret Industries for only $5. It took me a few tries to get a good loaf of bread to come out of the machine, but now I’m enjoying soft, warm, delicious bread. Here is the recipe that I used, with the ingredients listed in the order I added them:
From the dream dictionary entry for “spy”:
To dream that you are a spy, indicates your mistrust of others and your tendencies to be in everyone’s business and affairs. Perhaps you have recently stumbled upon some information that was not meant for your eyes.
I don’t know about my mistrust of others. I would like to think that I’m a very trusting person. The part about recently stumbling upon some information, that is probably more true.
I think dream dictionaries are like horoscopes: you can find evidence that supports them if you want to.

I was listening to music today when all of a sudden my iPod Nano froze up in the middle of the song, with the display lit. Pushing any of the normal buttons wouldn’t un-freeze it. Even waiting for a few minutes, the display stayed lit and it still wouldn’t do anything.

I’ve been using OpenOffice.org on macs long before I even owned a mac. OpenOffice.org was just barely turning 1.1 back in those days, and installing it on a mac required learning how to install and get running X11.
NeoOffice is a version of OpenOffice.org rebuilt entirely for the mac. I’ve been using versions of NeoOffice for some time, but it has finally hit a level of maturity that makes me feel more confortable about showing it off. The latest version, 2.1, is available for download and is based off of OpenOffice.org version 2.1.
This is the first version of NeoOffice that is completely convincing as a mac application. Read the rest of this entry »

Yesterday I was hiking the Y, just for fun and exercise, and I noticed a few new things.
First, they had a new gate and fences around the bottom that make it look quite a bit better than the previous chain linked fences.
The also had a nice sitting area at the bottom with about 9 benches facing the valley below. This will definitely be a great place to leave those friends who don’t quite feel up to the adventure of hiking to the top.
There are also a couple of benches scattered through the first few switchbacks which will also be a nice place to sit an have a talk if you are hiking with someone special.
I’ve already hiked the Y three times this year, and I hope to be able to do another ten or so trips, to help keep me in shape for grander adventures which will surely come this summer.
