The election is over, now what?

I appologize if you’ve seen this already, but I thought it aptly describes what I’m going to do now that the election is over.  Click on to see the rest of this XKCD comic.

Actually, with all the political signs disappearing out of front yards, it is time to start looking at houses to buy.

Obama’s first day as President-Elect has already brought international tests.  Today, Russia announced that it was going to deploy missiles near Poland in response to a US missle defense shield installation there.  It is no cooincidence or mistake that this announcement was made the day after the election.  Additionally, Russia scrapped plans to disassemble some of its cold-war-era nukes.

Last June, Google and Yahoo announced a partnership where Yahoo would use Google Advertising on its site to increase revenue.  Yahoo would raise some much needed cash from the more effective advertising, while Google publishes its ads on a very large site.  Currently Yahoo uses its own advertising framework which is less effective.

However, today we learn that the deal is going bust because too many government regulators and advertisors had concerns that this agreement would give Google too much of an advertising monopoly. Read the rest of this entry »
