I’ve been doing some very careful shopping recently, and I almost feel like its cheating.

For example, did you know that a string of 50 mini- Christmas lights costs more than a string of 100 at Walmart?  So if you want just a small string of 50, buy it at Target instead.

Sometimes you look in the mirror and you have a “I’m fat and ugly” thought.  Other times you look in the mirror and think, “I don’t look so bad.  My extra efforts exercising must be paying off.”

Today I had the second thought.  I think it might have something to do with my new haircut.

Unfortunately, with all the candy and chocolate that I’m likely to eat today, I don’t think that these thoughts will last long.

Last night I had a dream that I was at Costco, except this Costco had two different floors, and you got between them with an escalator. The problem was getting the shopping cart between the floors, so in my dream they had this special shopping cart escalator where you could put your shopping car and then claim it again on the other floor.

In my dream, I was shopping on the top floor and had put several items, including frozen vegetables, in the cart. I was going to continue my shopping downstairs, so I put my cart in the weird looking cart escalator, and when I went downstairs to claim it.

They had an interesting technique for claiming carts–you had to choose one of two items for sale that matched your personality based on items already in the cart. I was given the choice between cheesy Pringles potato chips, and ranch flavored chips. I chose the ranch chips.

Then I was informed that I chose incorrectly and that I couldn’t claim my cart or guess again or do anything else to get my cart.

I was pretty darn mad, so I went to the customer service desk to claim that I wasn’t satisfied with being a Costco member and that I wanted my membership fees returned. And the customer service desk seemed both disorganized and unwilling to refund my money.

Is I got more insistent and upset, I woke up.

My New Shredder

Recently I purchased a shredder for the things I do not want anyone else to read.  I had one before that I used all the time, but it was so cheap that it would jam like every time.  This time, I didn’t go ultra cheap, but I didn’t go expensive either.

Now whenever I get credit card applications in the mail, or I have old bank statements I don’t want to keep, they can go through the shredder before they are discarded.

I got a letter in the mail which read:

Your student loans serviced by UHEAA have been paid in full… Congratulations on paying off your student loans.

I actually paid it off a couple of months ago, I’m not sure why it took them so long to figure it out. It always feels good to be debt free.
