Adventures in Salt Lake City

Posted in General, Religionon Jun 8, 2006

Tuesday I went up to Salt Lake City for some adventures and fun. I visited one of my favorite places, the Salt Lake City Library. I got a nice tour of the Beehive House which was Brigham Young’s house when he was governor of the region. I also got a tour of the Conference Center, where I saw the originals to some of my favorite Book of Mormon artwork. I also hiked Ensign Peak just about the time the sun was setting. Overall, it was a good adventure with some good company.

Did you go to the Legacy Theatre and see the new film, Joseph?

Unfortunately, that is saved for the next adventure.

Ah, a good plan. I’d like to say, “That’s awesome ’cause I helped paint that film!” but, I can’t. Instead I can say, “I know dozens of people who helped with and acted in the film, my cousin played Joseph, and I’ve visted the set several times.” But that’s pretty cool, right? I’ve yet to see it myself, which is a shame. You’ll have to let me know what you think when you do see it.

It’s a great movie. And I’m fairly skeptical about overly-emotive church movies, so my review is valuable ;)

I LOVED the guy who played Joseph Smith. He did a great job.
