What I like about Oregon
Posted in Generalon Dec 19, 2005
- The weather. Warmer than Utah (at least in December)
- Trees.
- People who pump your gas for you, even though gas here costs about an extra 10 cents a gallon.
- Nature. It’s so green here, it just feels great
- Good drivers. They use their blinkers. Hitting your horn isn’t used as a way to get mad at someone, it means, “impending crash.”
- No sales tax
- Being able to cut down your own Christmas tree
- OMSI
- Rain. You can’t like Oregon without liking the rain
- Lighthouses on the coast
- Tillamook cheese and icecream
- Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson, and their corresponding wilderness areas
- The Willamette river
- The Oregon Zoo
- The parking garage in downtown Hillsboro
- Downtown Hillsboro
- Real people without snobby attitudes
- The Hillsboro Argus (newspaper)
- The drinking water.
- The great atmosphere that actually has oxygen
- Bike lanes and bike friendly roads
- Recycling

You actually LIKE that? Really? Wow. Are you sure? Don’t you feel that your rights are being violated, or something?

Well, Liz, I think you are right. I mean, why should Oregonians be forced to buy the service of someone pumping gas for you? If people really wanted their gas pumped for them, we would see that service offered in other states like Utah.
