[...] Last month I announced that August 2006 was the biggest month ever for this website. August’s reign didn’t even last a month as September, with 4 days left in the month, just passed up August. Well over 1000 users came in so far this month through Google alone, which is a 30% increase over all of last month. The photos category was the most popular, while posts about search engines and Halloween dances were the most popular posts. [...]

[...] Of course, I am not a fan of Halloween dances, mostly because people wear costumes and costumes make it difficult to meet new people. My advice is don’t plan a Halloween dance, plan an October or November dance, without costumes. I’m afraid, however, that you are on your own for finding a theme for such dance.
I was very careful to not say that it was all about what a girl looks like. Unfortunately, I've observed with Halloween that when people are dressed up in a costume, they actually (often) ACT differently.

But I would also be a fool to think that it has nothing to do with what a person looks like. I think this is a social standard. Anyone who has ever spent any extra time dressing up for a date or taking that second look in the mirror before going out accepts this fact.

If on Halloween, someone dresses up to look scary (and don't tell me that never happens), it DOES make it difficult to see them for who they really are.
