I got my first utilities statement from University Villa today. Not only did the meter readings on the bill pre-date my move-in date, but they also included a $5 move in fee and a $2 billing fee. I was pretty sure that these fees were never disclosed to me in the contract.

The billing fee was disclosed. Concerning the move-in fee, just contest it, and they’ll waive it (or they did for me, anyway…)

I still can’t find any billing fee in the contract. The BYU Off-Campus Housing Handbook says that fees, their amount, and their purpose must be disclosed in writing, at the time of agreement (meaning, when the contract is signed).
By the way, try doing a google search for “university villa provo”
