I attended tonight’s basketball game where BYU overcame Wyoming 80-67. It was an exciting game, but with its own frustrations.
Austin Ainge tonight played very well, like he was trying to prove that he deserves to start more games. He has skill, and he can step up and use it when needed. But he also can over do himself and make mistakes.
I like Trent Plaisted’s new hair. It looks better on him than the old Nephi look.
The officiating seemed poor. I felt there was a double standard. I’m sure I couldn’t see things as well as the officials from my seat, and I didn’t see any replays, but I do think there were bad calls delivered to both teams, but especially BYU. I guess it is easy to always think the refs are picking on your team.
One of their players, 15, fouled out and got escorted appropriately to his seat. I enjoy seeing that happen. Their coach also earned a technical foul. He didn’t like that very much as you can imagine. I thought our coach had more to be mad about, but Coach Rose kept his cool.
Overall, I thought the game showed some skill, but I thought there was a lot of sloppiness, especially with shooting and rebounding close to the net.

The victory cake is a spice cake with vanilla frosting.
