Congradulations to BYU Men’s Basketball with their victory over New Mexico tonight. The win ends the regular season, with BYU in a tie for 2nd place in the Mountain West Conference.
The game tonight was one of the most exciting I’ve ever seen. President Monson even spoke at half time (which justifies skipping stake conference to go to the game).

BYU beat San Diego State University tonight with a score of 100 to 90. Good defense and good shooting seemed to be the key to tonight’s win. The officiating seemed mediocre at best, but it didn’t seem too favored.
This was an important win, as it only puts us a game and a half out of the conference lead. We are just going to need some luck now that San Diego State looses their next games.
Only two more home games left in the season. I should start looking now for someone to go with me.

It has been a pretty good little stretch for BYU athletics. The BYU men’s basketball team is on a winning streak, including a pair of road wins. It is shaping out to be a pretty good season. Today’s game against Air Force was exciting. It was pretty obvious that AFA was a good team, and I’m glad BYU came out on top. There were a lot of fans there, and the noice level was pretty high. The officiating was slightly better than it has been the last couple of games that I’ve seen.
Speaking of officiating, how does a ref at mid-court see a foul near the baseline when the ref just a few feet away didn’t. Either way you look at it, some one wasn’t doing their job. Either the closer ref isn’t seeing things that he should be, or the further away ref is making something up.
I didn’t see the volleyball game, but I heard it was pretty good. Especially since we are number 2 ranked, and we beat, in 4 games, number 1 ranked Pepperdine. If we can beat them again tonight, then we would have a pretty good reason to take their number 1 ranking.
The women’s basketball team beat the New Mexico team, who was three places higher than our team in the national rankings. This means the only team we have lost to all season long, is NC State, who is currently ranked in the 20s somewhere. We should see some improvement in the rankings, and maybe we can win out the season. That would be cool.
Finally, I saw that number 23 Iowa upset number 21 Michigan. While a upset like that is not that adnormal, the score of the game certainly upset a lot of people. Iowa killed Michigan 94 to 66. How do you blow out a ranked team by almost 30 points?

I attended tonight’s basketball game where BYU overcame Wyoming 80-67. It was an exciting game, but with its own frustrations.

Congradulations to the BYU basketball game for their win over the University of Utah. Although there weren’t a lot of people in the Marriott Center, it was a great game with a great feeling and lots of energy. Thank you to both teams for a very entertaining game.

I think the University of Utah’s mens basketball team is way over rated. Its current ranking of 14th and talk about Bogut being player of the year needs more justification. Sure they’ve won lots and lots of games, but who have they played? They have not beat a single top 50 team, in fact, in the two games they played against top 25 teams, they lost both. Sure they’ve won lots and lots of games, but who have they played? They have played lots of teams who will not be seeing the NCAA dance this year. I think they are too over rated based on the fact that they have had a weak strenght of schedule.
Perhaps people are just too excited about Utah’s success in football, and somehow think that carries over to basketball. They definately deserve to win the conference title, and they are good enough to be ranked, I’m just saying that you shouldn’t be picking Utah to go deep in your brackets this year, because once they start playing some quality east coast teams, they are going to crumble.
