Here is a quick list of apps that I frequently use on OS X. I believe all of them are free and open source. many of the applications are development tools that I find useful.

Those are my favorite, most used apps. You should also check out this list of mac apps, some of which I’ve used either on the mac or other platforms, others I plan on trying soon.

It seems like every TV show, magazine, blog, newspaper, and mother’s journal needs a top ten list. Why are top ten lists so interesting? Perhaps it is because we are too lazy to study out an entire subject matter, and want someone to summarize the best of the best for us. Whatever the reasons for the top ten trends, here is a top ten list of top ten lists to celebrate:

10. Top 10 Deadliest Animals

Movie classics in the cove

Posted in Adventureson Jan 28, 2007

When the weather turns warmer, I want to show classic movies in the cove. More details later, but I’m starting to think about some movies which could be shown. Below is my list. Please comment if you have a movie to add, or if you want to boo a movie on my list.

Darn! I just remembered that I forgot my car up on campus and I should probably go get it right now even though it is late. Darn! I’ll have to finish the list later. Suggestions very much welcome.

Update 30 Jan at 6pm: Ok, I’m back. Moved my car last night, and now I’m back with the following additions:

  • Back to the Future
  • Karate Kid
  • ET
  • One of the Lord of the Rings movies
  • Life is Beautiful
  • The Three Amigos
  • The Singles Ward
  • The Princess Bride

I think that on particular nights we should combine the classic movie with some other activity like a new release movie, BBQ, desert potluck, or other events. Watching a movie up in the canyon is also an option.
