Well, I woke up from my nap today, and found that the kitchen had been cleaned. I don’t know who did it, and I haven’t heard any discussion about it at all. It was just suddenly clean.

Well, the big bag of flower has escaped the trash pile, but the extra pizza box or two hasn’t. Still no word on when my lazy roommates will give in and take their turn at taking out the garbage.

Great garbage cold war – day 5

People must see the can because more garbage gets stacked on. Since I took this picture, another empty bottle of juice and an empty bottle of milk have joined the war. The bag of flower is not part of the war, it was just left there, but if things get worse, it might become a casualty.

The great trash cold war – day 4

Posted in Socialon Mar 24, 2005

Today is day 4 of the great trash cold war. This is where everyone in the apartment seems to refuse to take out the garbage and the pile just gets larger and larger. It started when one of the roommates emptied the garbage and didn’t put a bag in the can. The two of us who normally take out the garbage decided that we aren’t going to do it this time because there isn’t a bag in the can. One of the other two roommates should take it out, especially because they never do it anyway.

Its becoming interesting to see how big of a pile of garbage can be tolerated before it is emptied.

And the pile is getting pretty big. There are two pizza boxes, a big icecream cake box, an old bottle of milk, a moldy loaf of bread. The pile has grown to its maximum height and now is taking up a couple of times more floor space than the garbage can normally does.

Well, the cougars beat Notre Dame Saturday night, that was exciting, and all the victory cake was eaten by Sunday night.

Roommates are interesting. I’m not sure how much I trust them yet, which is kind of unusual, because I would like to think of myself as a trusting person. Yet there is something that just doesn’t feel right about one of them, and I just can’t quite ignore that feeling.

My wiki went down when I switched my computer science account to the ugrad group instead of the guest group. Now, all it is returning is an error. I thought I fixed all the path problems, but something else isn’t quite right. Its using moinmoin, and I seem to remember having a similar problem, but now I can’t remember what it might be.
