A couple of weeks ago, my family and I visited Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah. One of the things we visited was the North Visitor’s Center. The basement of the visitor’s center features displays about various biblical and latter-day prophets. Their displays are pretty good. Below you will see a photo of me and a display about Isaiah. I was trying to get Isaiah to sign an autograph book, but he just wasn’t interested in moving.

Jacob has been a very popular name over the last couple of years. Of course, I was named Jacob before it was quite so popular. The meaning of the name Jacob is Held by the heel and has Hebrew origins.
I’m not really sure what that means, “held by the heel.” I mean, I can envision someone being held by their heel, but I’m not really sure what the significance of it is.
Jacob is a biblical name. It is used in the Old Testament, and also in certain translations of the New Testament. It is also used in the Book of Mormon.

Joseph Smith read from James. It is likely that Joseph Smith did not just open to James, but read the Pauline episodes first. Joseph Smith would have been reading over the doctrines of the old church while visiting and investigating the churches in his area at his time.
I believe that Joseph Smith had a personal and deep relationship with Paul. Their lives are parallel. Converted through seeing the Lord, chosen to be a great church leader in building the Church, persecuted, imprisoned, and martyred. It is interesting how the only physical description of Paul comes from Joseph Smith.
